Communication is at the heart of everything human beings do; it defines and gives meaning to our emotions, beliefs, hopes, creativity, and life experiences. Without communication, a child is lost. The effective development, understanding, and expression of language are fundamental to any educational experience and are particularly crucial for deaf and hard-of-hearing children.

Founder and Director of the National Deaf Education Project

What is the Table for Ten Project?

The Table for Ten Project is an opportunity to enjoy dinner at participating restaurants or homes to raise awareness and funds to help children who are deaf or hard-ofhearing reach their highest potential.

Who does the Table for Ten Project support?

Dining at a Table for Ten helps Hands & Voices, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting families with children who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing. Without a bias around communication modes or methodology, Hands & Voices provides families with the resources, networks, and information they need to improve access to communication and educational outcomes for their children. Outreach activities, parent and professional collaboration, and advocacy efforts are focused on enabling Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing children to reach their highest potential.

If communication goes awry, it affects the intellectual growth, social intercourse, language development, and emotional attitudes, all at once, simultaneously, and inseparably.
