Thank you, Colorado!
Our event for October 21 is sold out.
Please email Gala@cohandsandvoices.org for any questions.
There’s no place like home. That’s where parent-to-parent support begins.
The dress code is casual or Wizard of Oz costumes at our annual fundraising gala on Sunday, October 21 back at the “Colorado casual” Two Penguins Bar & Grill.
You won’t want to miss our annual evening dedicated to raising funds for our services for families raising children who are deaf or hard of hearing, and the networking among like-minded people.
This year, we’ll honor the sponsors of HB 18-1006, Representative Millie Hamner, Senator Bob Gardner, Representative Larry Liston, and Senator Dominc Moreno as changemakers for the newborn screening system in our state as our 2018 Families First Award winners. They will join last year’s educator Dianne Goberis, an innovative, energetic and highly skilled teacher of the Deaf/hard of hearing for the 2017 Families First Award winner. We look forward to your nominations next year through July 1.
We’ll also be honoring Dinah Beams, most recently the Program Coordinator, Colorado Home Intervention Program with the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind, for her long career working with young children who are deaf/hard of hearing, their families, and the early interventionists and other team members who serve them. As a sister to a Deaf brother, she chose a long time ago to embark on a career path that would serve young children. How many of our families and professionals have been directly impacted by Dinah’s wisdom? Help us recognize her with the Heart & Hand Award!
We’ll be joined by Blue Moon Entertainment owner Chris Gardner, who happens to be one of our many professionals in Colorado with a hearing loss himself. We look forward to the live and silent auctions, the chocolate drawing with teen and child volunteers, a limited complimentary bar to accompany dinner and a dessert buffet.
Costumes in the Wizard of Oz theme are welcome but optional.
Don’t make us get out the flying monkees!

Never attended our benefit before?
The attentive and welcoming staff at the Two Penguins put on a delicious buffet featuring a choice of BBQ pulled pork or chicken, housemade cole slaw or remoulade dressing, new potato salad, American salad with choice of dressings, and fresh green salad. The dessert bar features mini-lemon bars and German chocolate brownies by Das Meyer Pastries, cake pops and cupcakes from Megan’s Custom Cakes Parker Bakery (both in Parker) and Zaidy’s Deli offers three types of mini-desserts with seasonal fresh fruit to round out dessert.
Guests are seated at reserved tables or grouped together with other single ticket buyers during dinner, after mingling at the silent auction and gathering together for the award program and live auction.
A huge thank you to our many event sponsors below, our volunteer sign language interpreters and live captioning (CART) through Visible Voices who bring access to the event, emcees, event committee, and of course the guests who always make the evening shine! Here’s to parent-to-parent support of our children who are deaf/hard of hearing and deaf plus.
